Model Mode

The Model Mode allows the radio to operate in different frequency ranges. Each dealer may choose a default band mode when selling radios and you will need to pay attention when sharing code plugs.

The following modes are available on the D878UV. Generally radios sold in the USA are either in mode 00 or 07.

Change Model Mode on Radio.

The change the Model Mode the following procedures will allow you to select it from the radio.

  • Turn off Radio

  • Press PTT + Number 1 key while turning on the radio.

  • Radio will display "Maintenance Mode"

  • Select the mode by using the channel knob.

  • Reboot the radio (power off, power on).

Change Model Mode in CPS

Once you have completed the Change Model Mode on the Radio you will need to change it on the CPS as well. Remember, when you change this it will not allow you to use a code plug that was built in a mode different from what you have selected for the radio. You will need to export and import into the new code plug.

  • Start CPS

  • Click "Model" on the top menu

  • Click "Model Information"

  • Choose a Mode by selecting it from the drop down in the "Frequencies" field.

  • Click OK

  • The CPS will warn you it will erase all information.
